About Us
Both of us are natives to Arizona. Paul grew up in the outskirts of Flagstaff, AZ surrounded by forests and Labrador Retrievers. Courtney grew up on a dairy farm in Gilbert, AZ riding horses and helping to whelp Labrador Retriever and Queensland Heeler puppies when only in Elementary school. We met in 2018, married in 2021, and grew our family that includes our son. Just like our passion for dogs started early, our son is following in our footsteps. He has taken Liberty from his mom and made her his own. Those two are never separate at home or in the woods. She lets him crawl all over her and in exchange, he feeds her his snacks.
We are part of the Arizona Antelope Foundation, Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society, and GRCA. In Arizona we are active in conservation projects for the above foundations. Our dogs typically attend these projects with us and can always be seen in their American flag bandanas while carrying their own water supply in their bright orange back packs. Golden Retrievers have been the best fit for us as a family. Their intelligence, temperament, ability to switch gears from couch potatoes to avid explorers when we hit the mountains is unmatched for us. They transitioned seamlessly when we brought our son home from the hospital and never left us with a concern around him. As we have seem them work in the woods, helping us recover deer and find antlers, our love for them grew. Liberty enjoys the ring but her true love is getting dirty and putting her nose to work.
We have a growing passion for Golden Retrievers and that has led us here. Aside from ensuring healthy puppies are sent to new homes, our dream is to breed Goldens that can not only be competitive in the conformation ring but can turn around and work in the field. As I have spoken with breeders from both walks of life, there has been a common theme: “Have you ever watched them work in the field?” You can hear their love for Goldens — their abilities, their heart to work — and it seems unmatched. That love, along with our strong desire to give back to our veterans who have given so much for our country, fuels us even more. Through donating and training therapy dogs, we hope to support those who have sacrificed so greatly. Their ability to seamlessly fit into families while adapting to whatever is asked of them is beautiful to watch, and that versatility is exactly what we love most about Golden Retrievers.
